7/31/09: I bought a '99 Ford 250 PowerStroke Diesel with a 6 speed manual transmission and 180,000 miles. I flew to Texas to buy it. It is an amazing truck and I couldn't be happier with it. I drove it over 700 miles back to Alabama. It is extremely strong and I love the manual trans and clutch.

Here are the details:
Never smoked in; no tears or rips on cloth interior; no cracks in dash; smells good too
No rust underneath. Outside - hail damage on roof and hood, some small scratches on side of body from bushes etc. On white paint, you can barely see the scratches unless you are within 5 feet.
New front windshield, no chips or cracks to look through.
Ranch hand bumpers front and rear - rear has Class 5 receiver - 10,000 lb tow rating. Front has a place to hook up a ball mount or mount a winch. These things are BAD!
Tailgate is in good shape.
Hide-away gooseneck hitch. This is a nice one. 7500lb. tongue weight 30,000lbs. total weight capacity.
No smoke when it starts first of the day
No missing on cold start - runs smooth immediately, good injectors
Glow plugs are great. Didn't plug it in this winter, and it started in 15 deg cold after sitting 4 days.
Clutch feels good to me and tranny shifts great no grinding in any gear.
No play in steering other than a little that's in every F series.
BF Goodrich All Terrain tires have 11k miles on them. I have already rotated and re-balanced them once.
No transmission of diff leaks.
Electronic brake controller hooked up works great.
New Magnaflow exhaust turbo back - stainless steel - lifetime warranty
New Bilstein front shocks - lifetime warranty I believe
New ISSPRO guages, boost and EGT on the pillar - ready for your chip or programmer if you want to.
New ball joints top and bottom both sides
New Pioneer in-dash head unit with 4 new speakers - play MP3s sounds great; has remote control
Tow mirrors are new
Batteries are 18 months old.
Airaid intake system
Fuel Mileage: the truck got 17.5 mpg hand calculated driving from Mobile to Birmingham staying between 75-80 mph with 3.73 gears. This was with no chip or programmer. Common opinion is that those can add 2mpg. Regardless as it sits, driving at 65-70 mph and this truck is right at 20mpg.
